Barrett Jackson Palm Beach Need For Speed Mustang! Nice feature by Dan Mihalascu!

The Ford Mustang GT from the “Need for Speed”movie fetched $300,000 (€217,045) at the Barrett-Jackson Auction Company’s West Palm Beach event on Saturday, with proceeds to benefit Henry Ford Health Systems’ efforts to provide access to healthcare for more people.
The Mustang was sold to the highest bidder, Dave Flynn of Columbiana, Ohio.
“Everyone has a Mustang story, and the new owner of this movie car now has one that is particularly special. Snagging such a high-profile car right now  – 50 years after the birth of America’s first pony car – is something to be cherished. And helping such an important cause makes the sale even more memorable,” said Steve Ling, North America car marketing manager for Ford.
The Ford Mustang GT is finished in silver paint with Kona Blue racing stripes and features a custom-designed wide body rolling on Forgiato 22-inch alloy wheels and is powered by a supercharged V8 engine, which Ford says it is “capable of supporting 900 horsepower”. Other design elements include an enlarged lower grille with new air intakes, extended rocker panels, a twin-snorkel hood and low-profile mirrors.
The car was used in filming and was displayed at all promotional stops for the “Need for Speed” movie.

Serious Roush bling!

I ran across these wheels while researching for the Barrett Jackson Palm Beach auction.  This set would be killer on a vintage ride!
